Ernest's Five minute Introductory Speech (October 2025)

Hi, I’m Ernest Lineberger, A retired Naval Officer, Running for US House of Representatives for Texas Congressional District 26 (Cooke, Denton and Wise Counties)

Thank you, Flower Mound Democrats for all that you do.  Especially this event and recently the Flower Mound Fall Festival booth and coming this weekend the No Kings protest.

Thank you all for coming, participating and donating.

 I’m a retired naval officer, specialized in nuclear power, served tours on multiple warships including the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz.  Those were years of service, long hours, hard work requiring knowledge, competence, understanding and dedication. And the understanding of consequences with people’s lives dependent on you.

After retirement, I went to work the technicalities of manufacturing semiconductors with Texas Instruments in the Dallas area for another 29 years.  This effort helped keep high paying jobs in this critical industry here in America.

Long before that I was the youngest in a family of six, where my father was a navy chaplain and Lutheran minister.  We traveled a lot.  We interacted with a wide variety of people.  Listening to my father’s sermons, my faith developed.  It can be boiled down to Love your neighbor and we are all neighbors.

Unlike my opponent, I’m here to serve all of the people.  I’m a board member for meals on Wheels of Denton County, work with and contribute to CCA of Lewisville, United Way, KERA, KIVA and more.  My goal is to flip this seat that has been red for 42 years to Red, White and Blue to serve all of the people.  We can help everyone achieve their full potential and have a good quality of life.

With that back ground, I’m tired of the non-sense both State and Federal.  The corruption, greed, arrogance and lies.  Serving donors and not the people.  They act as if there will be no consequences.  That’s because we are the ones to pay.  Political retribution, Tariffs increasing our costs, no plan to tackle the $37T debt.  No plan to improve health care for Americans, just cuts.  Indiscriminate cuts to the VA, FEMA, CDC, NIH, FAA, and more.  The outrageousness of one act after another.   And is it for real or just a distraction from something worse.  It is too much.  Kick them out!

To anyone who has ever voted Republican, remember that they serve ultra big money and not the people.  As the saying goes; Fool me once shame on you, Fool me twice shame on me.  Break free of their lies and join me.

I plan to flip this MAGA seat that is currently empowering the incompetence, to Red, White and Blue to serve all of the people.

Every bill will be scrutinized – Who does this serve?

Who benefits and who loses?

My goal will be to serve the people and the nation.

Unlike my opponent and current Representative, who serves only money and power.
